Who is Jihaad Shaw?

Jihaad and Josh met in 2006 and immediately figured out they must have been in the same room over a dozen times over the years without ever meeting.

After beginning his promotion career at Capitol Records under the tutelage of Phil Costello, working records such as The Beastie Boys’ “Ill Communication,” The Pharcyde’s “Labcabincalifornia,” and Channel Live’s “Mad Izm,” Jihaad’s work attracted the attention of Cheeba Sound CEO and D’Angelo manager Dominique Trenier, who liked his eclectic approach to lifestyle marketing.

As Director of Marketing at Cheeba Sound, Jihaad further honed his marketing skills with such artists as D’Angelo, Nikka Costa, and Mark Ronson, and DJ AM. Jihaad also oversaw marketing for Blow, starring Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. As Music Supervisor at EMI Music Publishing, Jihaad worked on blockbuster movies such as Step Up, Premonition, and Cheaper by the Dozen 2.

Jihaad has always loved producing parties, and is very good at it. He has produced everything from birthday parties for Hollywood luminaries to events for Georgio Armani and Maxim magazine.

These days Jihaad runs things on the ground for Rebel. Still as connected to the streets as ever, J keeps us up on the latest music, fashion, and trends. Just don’t look for him on Facebook.
